Uddari Art is delighted to introduce a young Punjabi painter from Birmingham who has in the past couple of years created a strong repertoire for herself.
She flaunts unique images in boastful colors to communicate the oppression she experiences as a woman. Her work and her person is valuable to us as it challenges the norms of systems we live in.
Her style of expression reminds us of Pakistan’s Ahmad Zoay (1947-2014), and small wonder, because she is his eldest daughter. And, it was after Zoay’s death in 2014 that prompted Mahrukh to come out with her own work.
Mahrukh Moon Zoay has not exhibited her work anywhere except for sharing it with her friends on Facebook.
