  2. Baba Ji’s wife Bishan Kaur who made an equally a great sacrifice (as per Baba Ji himself) holding the fort alone all along, while she was married to Baba Ji in all her married life against all odds in Bhakna, while Baba ji was away fighting the war for Independence was the sister of my grandfather Jiwan Singh who helped her in her toils. Although my ancesstoral village is now in Pakistan ( DisTT. Lahore, almost same distance as Bhakna but on the opposite side of Wagah )) and as the tables turned, My granfather & family came over the border during the night of partition to seek refuge in his sister’s house in Bhakna. As the family stayed in Bhakna for a considerable period of time, I was raised under the kind gaze of Baba Bhakna himself. I graduated from the Janta High School Bhakna as was known then in 1956, one of the very first 10th class graduates who matriculated from there in the maiden years. I watched the ‘Loh-Pursh’ up very close as I was growing up and had a special grandfatherly relationship with him. I may have a useful onfo. showing his tender side of life which doesnt normally catch the imagination of a formal interviewer and might have gone amiss. Pls. check out my website if you need to know more about me and I will be only too pleased to help you in anyway I can.-Pashaura S Dhillon
